1. Is the salary competitive?

Compare it with similar construction roles at your level and location

2. What's included in the package?

A vehicle, fuel card, pension, bonus or accommodation can change the overall value considerably

3. What project will I be working on?

Think about project value, sector, complexity and what it adds to your cv

4. What's the commute or rotation?

More money can quickly feel less attractive if you're adding hours of travel every week

5. What will I actually be responsible for?

Make sure the title, salary and level of responsibility match.

6. What's the company's pipeline?

Don't only ask about the project you're joining. Ask what happens afterwards.

7. Is there room to progress?

Think about where this position could put you in two or three years.

8. When will my salary be reviewed?

Know when and how your next review will happen before you join.

A higher salary today doesn't automatically mean a better career move.

Ask yourself:

Will I work on bigger or better projects?
Will I gain more responsibility?
Will I manage people?
Will this strengthen my CV?
Could this move help me reach the next level?
