Overview:
Excellent opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer to join a leading Irish Main Contractor on a €50m Major Heritage Restoration Development project in County Mayo, a particularly strong opportunity for an Engineer early in their career who wants to build on their experience.
Rather than being pulled across numerous site management duties, your primary focus will be setting out, surveying and working from construction drawings on site.
The project itself is one of the most interesting currently underway in the West of Ireland, combining the restoration and refurbishment of historic structures with new build elements, external works, infrastructure, drainage, services, landscaping and public realm works.
You’ll be joining an ambitious and growing Irish contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high quality projects across Ireland.
The company places a real emphasis on developing its people, providing junior engineers with hands on site experience, support from experienced construction professionals and opportunities to progress as their technical ability develops.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out accurate setting out and surveying using Total Station and surveying equipment for construction works across the project.
- Check dimensions, levels and completed works to ensure construction is in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with the Site Manager, Engineers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are set out correctly and efficiently.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information, as well as using AutoCAD to review drawings and assist with setting out information.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Comfortable using a Total Station and carrying out setting out duties on site.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings.
