The Company
A well-established Irish main contractor is delivering one of the largest residential developments currently under construction in Galway City, Co Galway. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality housing developments, apartment schemes, and mixed-use projects, the company has built a consistent pipeline of work across the West and Midlands.
The successful Site Manager will join an experienced project team on a landmark residential development valued at approximately €320 million. This long-term project offers excellent job security, strong support from senior management, and genuine opportunities for career progression within the business.
The Role: Site Manager
Based in Galway City, Co Galway, you will be responsible for managing a key section of this major residential development, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate subcontractors, oversee daily site activities, maintain programme targets, and ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking to take ownership of a significant residential project with a leading Irish main contractor.

Must Have Requirements:
- Must have 5+ years' experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor on Irish construction projects.
- Proven experience delivering large residential developments is required.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
- Excellent subcontractor coordination and programme management experience.
- Full driving licence.
- Experience delivering apartment developments or large housing schemes.
- Construction Management or Engineering qualification beneficial.
- Experience using Procore, BIM 360, or similar construction management software.
Nice to Have:
- First Aid, Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
- Temporary Works or lifting operations experience.
- Strong IT and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site operations on a large residential development.
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and on programme.
- Monitor quality standards and ensure excellent finishes throughout construction.
- Maintain a strong health and safety culture across the project.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site engineering team.
- Coordinate deliveries, logistics, and site resources.
- Ensure programme milestones are achieved through effective planning.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Liaise with design teams, consultants, and client representatives as required.
- Resolve site issues quickly to minimise delays and maintain programme delivery.
