The Role: Quantity Surveyor
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of construction projects from mobilisation through to final account settlement.
Working closely with the Project Director, commercial team, subcontractors, clients and wider project team, you will manage project costs and value while supporting the successful delivery of the project.
The role will suit a Quantity Surveyor with 3+ years' experience who is looking to take the next step in their career towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

About You
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with at least three years' construction experience and a Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying or above.
You will have a good understanding of cost and value management, subcontractor procurement, valuations, final accounts and construction contracts. Experience working with a main contractor and managing commercial relationships with subcontractors and clients will be advantageous.
You will be commercially aware, organised and comfortable working with financial information and reporting. Strong communication and problem solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
This role will particularly suit a career driven Quantity Surveyor who is looking to progress towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

- Proven experience dealing with subcontractors and clients
- Good understanding of current construction contracts and forms of agreement
- Strong written, verbal and numerical communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with a main contractor in Ireland
- Experience managing subcontractor valuations and final accounts
- Knowledge of CostX, Bluebeam or Cubit
- Experience with monthly cost reporting and cost value reconciliation
- SCSI or RICS pathway experience beneficial
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the procurement of specialist subcontractor trades and make appointment recommendations to the Project Director
- Assist with the preparation and drafting of subcontract agreements
- Receive, assess and agree subcontractor interim valuations and final accounts
- Review developing design information and advise the project team of cost implications
- Identify and advise on value engineering opportunities
- Prepare monthly valuations for submission to the Employer's Representative
- Agree monthly valuations and maintain accurate commercial records
- Participate in monthly internal cost reporting, including cost value reconciliations, turnover reports, preliminaries cost reports and project outcome projections
- Assist with the preparation and settlement of the project final account
- Provide proactive contractual and commercial advice to the Project Director
- Monitor project costs and value throughout the construction programme
- Maintain strong working relationships with the wider project team, client and supply chain
- Support and develop trainee and graduate Quantity Surveyors
