The Company
This established international M&E engineering contractor delivers major mechanical and electrical projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a strong track record across pharmaceutical, life sciences, data centre and industrial developments.
They are currently strengthening their commercial team in Galway, Co Galway and are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for the electrical package on a major pharmaceutical project.
The Role: Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor
As Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of the electrical package from project delivery through to final account.
Working closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, subcontractors and client representatives, you'll manage cost control, valuations, variations, claims and subcontractor accounts while protecting the commercial position of the project.
Must Have Requirements
You're an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor with the commercial knowledge to take ownership of a significant electrical package on a technically demanding project.
You'll be confident managing subcontractors, variations, claims and project reporting while working closely with the wider delivery team. You'll also understand the importance of programme, accurate record keeping and protecting project margin.

Must Have Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor or M&E Quantity Surveyor.
- Proven experience commercially managing significant electrical packages on large construction projects.
- Strong experience with valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts, cost reporting and final accounts.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services and their commercial delivery.
- Preferred Experience Pharmaceutical or life sciences project experience preferred.
- Experience with a major M&E contractor would be beneficial.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience working on other technically complex projects including data centres or industrial facilities would also be considered.
- Take commercial responsibility for the electrical package through to final account.
- Prepare budgets, cost forecasts and commercial reports.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts.
- Prepare monthly applications, including remeasurements, variations, dayworks and applicable claims.
- Price and agree variations and changes to the electrical scope.
- Identify commercial risks and ensure they are managed appropriately.
- Work closely with planning and project delivery teams to align progress with commercial reporting.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
- Attend commercial meetings with the client, subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Negotiate commercial matters with clients and their representatives.
