With a significant presence across the European data centre market, they continue to secure major projects in key locations including the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. Their teams are known for maintaining exceptionally high safety standards while delivering fast-track programmes in demanding live construction environments.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join a major data centre development in Amsterdam, one of Europe's most desirable locations for construction professionals looking to gain international project experience.
The Role: Health & Safety Officer
Based on a large-scale data centre project in Amsterdam, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and compliance are maintained throughout the construction programme.
This role offers excellent exposure to mission-critical construction and would suit a Health & Safety Officer looking to progress their career on high-profile European projects while enjoying a structured rotation and excellent work-life balance.
You will play a key role in driving safety culture across the site, carrying out inspections, monitoring compliance, delivering training, and ensuring all works are completed safely in line with company procedures and local regulations.

About You
You will be an organised and proactive Health & Safety Officer who enjoys being visible on site and engaging directly with construction teams.
You will have strong communication skills, confidence when dealing with subcontractors and site management, and a practical approach to maintaining high standards in a busy project environment.
This role suits someone looking to build a long-term European career within the data centre sector while gaining exposure to some of the most advanced construction projects currently being delivered across Europe.
Rotation & Travel
This role operates on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 3 years' experience as a Health & Safety Officer within construction, civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification required (NEBOSH, Diploma, Degree or equivalent)
- Experience working on construction sites is required
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, method statements, and site compliance
- EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Europe preferred
Preferred Experience
- Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, energy, or large-scale infrastructure project experience preferred
- Experience working with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor beneficial
- Temporary works and high-risk activity experience advantageous
- Knowledge of European construction standards beneficial
Nice to Have
- First Aid certification
- Manual Handling Instructor qualification
- Train the Trainer certification
- Experience using digital reporting systems and safety management software
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits
- Monitor compliance with company safety procedures and client requirements
- Support site management teams in maintaining a proactive safety culture
- Review risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems
- Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances
- Ensure subcontractor compliance across all work activities
- Maintain accurate safety records and reports
- Assist with regulatory inspections and client audits
- Promote continuous improvement across all health and safety activities

- Monday Week 1: Travel day, arrive on site approximately 1pm
- Saturday Week 1: Half day working
- Sunday Week 1: Day off
- Monday to Wednesday Week 2: Full working days
- Thursday Week 2: Return flight home late morning
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Home leave
