The Role: Foreman

This Foreman position is based on a major residential development in North Cork, involving the delivery of a large-scale housing scheme over multiple phases.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring quality standards, and ensuring work progresses safely and efficiently in line with programme requirements.

The successful Foreman will play a key role in driving productivity, maintaining quality finishes, and ensuring smooth coordination between trades on a busy live construction site.

Must Have Requirements:

•  Must have 5 years' experience as a Foreman on residential construction projects
•  Proven experience required with a main contractor or residential developer in Ireland
•  Strong understanding of health and safety regulations on Irish construction sites
•  Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour teams
•  Ability to deliver projects to programme while maintaining quality standards

Preferred Experience:

•  Experience on large-scale housing developments preferred
•  Setting out knowledge beneficial
•  Strong reporting and record-keeping skills
•  Experience using construction management software advantageous

Nice to Have:

•  Trade background
•  Safe Pass and relevant site supervision certifications
•  First Aid qualification
•  Additional health and safety training

Key Responsibilities:

•  Supervise daily site activities and coordinate all trades on site
•  Ensure works are completed safely and in line with project specifications
•  Manage subcontractor performance and productivity
•  Monitor quality control throughout all stages of construction
•  Assist with short-term programming and weekly work planning
•  Conduct toolbox talks and support site safety initiatives
•  Coordinate material deliveries and site logistics
•  Liaise with the Site Manager regarding progress, issues, and programme requirements
•  Maintain accurate site records and daily reports
•  Ensure quality finishes are achieved across all phases of the development

About You:

You will be an experienced Foreman with a strong residential construction background and a proven track record delivering housing projects in Ireland. You will be comfortable managing multiple trades, maintaining programme targets, and ensuring high standards of workmanship across a busy site environment.

You will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to lead site teams while maintaining a positive safety culture.
