This international specialist contractor has built a strong reputation delivering complex technical construction projects across Europe. Their work is focused on high-specification environments including data centres, advanced manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, and mission-critical infrastructure.
With a growing portfolio of data centre projects across the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Finland, and Austria, they are expanding their commercial leadership team from their Dublin headquarters. The role offers a mix of office, home, and European project involvement while remaining permanently based in Dublin, Co Dublin.
The Role: Commercial Manager
As Commercial Manager, you will lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff delivering multiple live data centre projects across Europe.
Reporting into senior commercial leadership, you will take ownership of commercial performance, risk management, procurement strategy, contract administration, claims management, and financial reporting across a portfolio of projects.
This position is based in Dublin, Co Dublin with approximately two days per week spent travelling to project locations across mainland Europe. In addition, you will have two hybrid working days from home each week, providing an excellent balance between project engagement and flexibility.
The successful Commercial Manager will play a key role in protecting commercial interests, maximising project profitability, supporting project teams, and developing the next generation of commercial professionals within the business.

About You
You are an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take ownership of a portfolio of high-value data centre projects across Europe.
You have strong commercial instincts, excellent contractual knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different project locations. You are comfortable leading teams, driving performance, and protecting commercial interests while maintaining strong client relationships.
Experience within data centres, industrial construction, mission-critical environments, or large-scale building projects will be highly regarded.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management within construction
- Proven experience required managing commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects
- Experience leading and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams
- Strong contractual knowledge including claims, variations, procurement, and dispute resolution
- Experience working with a main contractor or specialist contractor environment is required
Preferred Experience
- Data centre project experience preferred
- Experience working across multiple European projects beneficial
- Strong understanding of NEC, JCT, FIDIC, or equivalent contract forms
- Experience managing multiple project teams simultaneously
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Economics
- Professional membership with SCSI, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
- Experience within mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or advanced manufacturing sectors
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management across multiple data centre construction projects
- Manage contract procurement and subcontractor commercial performance
- Oversee project cash flow forecasting and reporting
- Drive profitability and commercial performance across the business unit
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risk throughout project delivery
- Lead claims management and dispute resolution processes
- Support project delivery teams with contractual compliance and commercial strategy
- Review and approve project forecasts, valuations, and financial reports
- Build and maintain strong client, consultant, and supply chain relationships
- Mentor, develop, and support Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff
- Ensure timely project financial close-out and final account settlement
- Contribute to commercial planning and business improvement initiatives
