This established engineering contractor specialises in the delivery of water, wastewater, pumping, and clean technology projects across Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe.
With a growing portfolio of municipal and industrial water treatment projects secured through long-term framework agreements, the company continues to expand its engineering team to support critical infrastructure projects nationwide.
Due to the award of multiple major contracts, they are now seeking a MEICA / Process Project Engineer to join their growing project delivery team based in Mallow, Co Cork.
The Role: MEICA / Process Project Engineer
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, pumping stations, and process infrastructure projects throughout Ireland.
Working closely with Contracts Managers, Design Engineers, Site Teams, Clients, and Stakeholders, you will manage projects from design and procurement through installation, commissioning, and final handover.
This position offers excellent exposure across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation disciplines while providing long-term career progression within a growing engineering business.
Must Have Requirements
You are an organised and technically competent engineer who enjoys managing projects from concept through to completion.
You have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and enjoy working within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver critical infrastructure projects.
You are motivated by technical challenges and want to develop your career within the growing water and wastewater sector.

Must Have Requirements
- Third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or MEICA engineering environment.
- Strong project coordination and engineering skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full Irish or EU driving licence.
- Experience working on water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems.
- Experience managing subcontractors and site-based project activities.
- Experience preparing engineering reports, commissioning documentation, and method statements.
- Knowledge of project planning and scheduling software.
- Experience working with Irish Water / Uisce Éireann projects.
- Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and automation systems.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures within live utility environments.
- Exposure to commissioning and process optimisation activities.
- Manage the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation activities across projects.
- Support design teams in developing innovative engineering solutions using modern technologies.
- Procure equipment, materials, and subcontract services required for project delivery.
- Develop project programmes and ensure all project interfaces are properly coordinated.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Manage site labour and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Monitor project progress and ensure programme, quality, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Prepare engineering reports, commissioning schedules, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and support successful project handover.
- Maintain all project documentation including O&M manuals, safety files, and handover documentation.
- Work closely with the HSQE team to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
