The Role: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Based on a major data centre project in Fredericia, Denmark, the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will support the commissioning and handover of complex mechanical building services systems.
Working alongside the Commissioning Lead and wider project team, you will be involved throughout the commissioning process, from pre-commissioning and testing through to integrated systems testing and client handover.
This is a site-based Mechanical Commissioning Engineer role offering excellent exposure to large-scale mission-critical infrastructure projects while working with experienced commissioning professionals.
Must Have Requirements
You are a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer who enjoys being on site and actively involved in bringing complex systems into operation. You understand mechanical commissioning processes, system interfaces and testing procedures, and you take a structured approach to quality and documentation.
You will be comfortable working alongside mechanical contractors, specialist vendors, commissioning managers and client representatives while maintaining a strong focus on programme delivery, quality assurance and successful project handover.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Building Services Engineer on construction projects
- Proven experience required with HVAC, chilled water, ventilation or mechanical building services systems
- Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, testing methodologies and system sequencing
- Experience working with a main contractor, specialist contractor or commissioning provider is required
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Data centre commissioning experience preferred
- Experience using commissioning software and digital completion systems
- Previous exposure to mission-critical, pharmaceutical or industrial projects beneficial
- Experience coordinating vendors and specialist subcontractors
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Commissioning certifications
- Previous European project experience
- Knowledge of integrated systems testing processes
- Review IFC drawings, specifications and mechanical technical submittals
- Support commissioning planning and system turnover activities
- Assist with commissioning methodologies, boundaries and system sequencing
- Coordinate commissioning activities with package managers, vendors and subcontractors
- Prepare and review commissioning scripts, check sheets and test documentation
- Witness and verify commissioning activities across mechanical systems
- Carry out system walkdowns, tag walks and inspections
- Maintain commissioning trackers, punch lists and progress reports
- Support mechanical functional performance testing activities
- Track defects and ensure timely close-out of commissioning issues
- Assist with preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation
- Attend client commissioning meetings and support project reporting
- Ensure all testing activities comply with project procedures and client requirements
- Support inspections, audits and sign-off processes
