This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Primary Design Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of high-profile engineering projects across Ireland based out of Co Dublin or Co Limerick.

As a Primary Design Electrical Engineer, you will act as the lead technical authority on projects, providing support from initial enquiry and tendering through to construction, commissioning, and energisation.
You are a proactive and adaptable engineer, with a focus on the HV electrical aspects of M&E projects.
While your core focus will be on M&E installations, you will also be a key part of the Power & Renewables engineering team, gaining valuable experience across a broad range of high-voltage systems and projects.

Primary Design Electrical Engineer Skills:
- Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in primary engineering design and/or project management on industrial installations.
- Strong technical knowledge of HV and MV networks in industrial environments, including resilience strategies and network studies.
- Experience with energy management systems and integration of automated control systems.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong IT proficiency, with excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to represent projects at a senior level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and mentor junior engineers and graduates.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on EHS and quality-driven work practices.
As a Primary Design Electrical Engineer:
- Develop Primary Plant designs for the delivery of HV substation projects.
- Produce technical documentation including CT burden assessments and control building calculations (lighting, heating, etc.).
- Prepare substation layouts (compound and building) aligned with TSO/DSO specifications and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with internal design teams (secondary, civil, and operations), external consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure technical compliance.
- Review and approve primary plant technical drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant international and European standards (IEC, IEEE, EN, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Identify and mitigate safety and design risks, resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively.
