The Role Mechanical Supervisor
As Mechanical Supervisor, you will take full ownership of mechanical site supervision on a major data centre project in Lisbon. You will be responsible for ensuring mechanical installations are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with programme.
This is a hands on leadership role where you will coordinate subcontractors, drive quality standards, manage short term planning and ensure all mechanical systems are installed in accordance with drawings, technical specifications and industry best practice. Your work will directly impact programme milestones, commissioning readiness and overall project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across all mechanical activities on site
• Lead toolbox talks and ensure safe systems of work are consistently followed
• Carry out site safety inspections, audits and walkdowns, closing out actions promptly
• Manage QA inspections of mechanical installations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
• Complete snagging, inspections and sign off quality documentation
• Prepare clear weekly progress reports highlighting milestones, risks and delays
• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical and CSA trades to avoid clashes
• Develop and manage two week lookahead programmes
• Monitor labour levels and subcontractor productivity against programme
• Maintain high quality standards across HVAC, pipework and mechanical plant installations
• Identify and escalate variations, delays and technical risks
• Verify plant, materials and equipment meet project specifications
• Ensure all subcontractor plant and access equipment is certified and compliant
About You
• Minimum five years experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on large scale construction projects
• Strong background in mechanical systems such as HVAC, pipework, plantrooms and building services
• Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical or other mission critical projects is highly desirable
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades on site
• Solid understanding of QA processes, inspections and commissioning readiness
• Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear site reports
• Proactive leadership style with a focus on quality, safety and programme delivery
• Detail focused and solutions driven under pressure
