The Role – Commissioning Lead
As Commissioning Lead, you will take full ownership of the Mechanical and Electrical commissioning strategy on a large scale data centre project in Dublin. This is a senior site based leadership role with responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering all MEP commissioning activities through to Integrated Systems Testing and final client handover.
You will be the driving force behind commissioning performance on site, ensuring critical systems are delivered safely, in line with design intent, and to strict programme milestones. Your role will directly impact quality, safety, compliance and the successful energisation of high value mission critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end to end MEP commissioning strategy from design review through to IST and final handover
• Develop and manage the integrated commissioning programme aligned with overall construction delivery
• Oversee commissioning of LV MV and HV electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators and protection systems
• Manage mechanical commissioning including HVAC, chilled water, pumps, controls, fire protection and fuel systems
• Coordinate vendor led commissioning works across CFCI and OFCI packages
• Chair daily and weekly commissioning meetings ensuring clear accountability and action close out
• Identify commissioning risks, technical interfaces and programme constraints with proactive mitigation
• Ensure strict compliance with EHS, QA and energisation procedures during all commissioning activities
• Oversee preparation and close out of test scripts, method statements, compliance documentation and commissioning dossiers
• Report weekly to senior project leadership on commissioning progress, risks and recovery strategies
About You
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services, or a strong trade background with extensive commissioning leadership experience
• Minimum 10 years experience in commissioning roles within large scale construction projects
• Proven track record delivering commissioning on data centre, pharmaceutical or other mission critical facilities
• Strong technical knowledge of HV and MV electrical systems, mechanical systems commissioning and controls integration
• Experience leading Integrated Systems Testing and phased energisation strategies
• Confident managing multidisciplinary teams, specialist vendors and client representatives
• Structured, organised and capable of operating under pressure in high risk live environments
• Strong communicator with clear reporting and stakeholder management skills
