The Role – Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
This Senior Mechanical Project Engineer role is a key technical position within the project delivery team. You will work closely with project managers, design teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure mechanical building services installations are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
The role involves overseeing the technical delivery of mechanical systems from design review through to installation, testing and commissioning on large scale construction projects. You will also act as a key point of contact for technical coordination, procurement and engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Salary: €70,000 to €80,000 (DOE) plus package

The Role – Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
This Senior Mechanical Project Engineer role is a key technical position within the project delivery team. You will work closely with project managers, design teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure mechanical building services installations are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.

Key Responsibilities
- Represent the mechanical project team at client design and progress meetings and communicate updates across internal stakeholders
- Review mechanical drawings, design specifications and technical documentation to fully understand project scope
- Ensure all mechanical installations are delivered in line with design specifications, industry standards and client requirements
- Carry out technical design reviews and identify engineering improvements where required
- Develop mechanical engineering solutions including calculations, technical sketches and supporting documentation
- Review coordinated construction drawings and ensure mechanical services integration across disciplines
- Identify scope changes or cost variations and communicate these with the project team
- Manage procurement activities including technical submittals, equipment schedules and supplier coordination
- Review specialist subcontractor packages to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent
- Assist with project commissioning plans and support testing and commissioning phases
- Coordinate inspection plans and quality documentation alongside the quality team
- Maintain clear technical reporting throughout project delivery
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Minimum 4 years experience working on mechanical building services projects
- Experience working with mechanical contractors or MEP contractors on large construction projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical plant and building services installations
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
- Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary construction teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities
- Focused on safety, quality and programme delivery
Salary: €70,000 to €80,000 (DOE) plus package
