The Role – Commercial Manager
This is a senior Commercial Manager position with full responsibility for the commercial performance of a business unit on major electrical projects in Denmark. You will work closely with directors, project managers, and operational teams to drive profitability, manage risk, and ensure strong commercial governance from tender stage through to final account.
The role involves leading commercial strategy, overseeing contract negotiations, and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors across large scale construction and engineering projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maximising commercial returns.
Key Responsibilities
Salary: €110,000 – €140,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage business unit revenue, cashflow, and monthly commercial reporting
- Lead commercial strategy and implement effective commercial structures
- Oversee tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and bid management processes
- Interpret contract conditions and manage risk across all project phases
- Coordinate QS activities across pre construction and live project stages
- Ensure all commercial milestones and reporting requirements are achieved
- Lead final account negotiations and dispute resolution processes
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Audit live projects to ensure commercial processes and controls are followed
- Manage subcontractor agreements, payments, and contractual compliance
- Support and challenge project teams across commercial, operational, and engineering functions
- Develop commercial awareness across the wider business and support functions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team within the business unit
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or similar
- 10 plus years’ experience in Quantity Surveying on electrical or mechanical projects
- Strong background in commercial management within large scale construction or engineering projects
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, risk management, and financial control
- Excellent understanding of contract conditions and commercial processes
- Experience managing teams and leading commercial functions on major projects
- Strong analytical, reporting, and financial management skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Driven, commercially focused, and capable of working at senior level within a fast paced environment
