The Company
This international engineering contractor specialises in the delivery of major data centre projects across Ireland and Europe.
They are looking for an experienced MV Commissioning Engineer to join their Dublin team, working on technically complex electrical systems across major data centre developments.
The Role: MV Commissioning Engineer
As MV Commissioning Engineer, you will work within the Electrical Commissioning team, reporting to the Project Commissioning Manager.
You will plan, coordinate and supervise Medium Voltage commissioning activities across MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, cabling and associated electrical distribution systems through testing, energisation and final handover.
Must Have Requirements
You will be an experienced MV Commissioning Engineer with strong technical knowledge of Medium Voltage systems and a practical understanding of commissioning within a data centre construction environment.
You should be comfortable coordinating specialist vendors, troubleshooting technical issues and managing multiple systems through testing and energisation.

The Role: MV Commissioning Engineer
As MV Commissioning Engineer, you will work within the Electrical Commissioning team, reporting to the Project Commissioning Manager.
You will plan, coordinate and supervise Medium Voltage commissioning activities across MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, cabling and associated electrical distribution systems through testing, energisation and final handover.
Must Have Requirements
- Must have 5+ years’ experience in an electrical commissioning role.
- Proven experience required working with MV electrical systems.
- Strong commissioning experience with MV switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
- Electrical Engineering qualification or electrical trade qualification with relevant commissioning experience.
- Data centre or other critical infrastructure experience preferred.
- MV protection relay and cable testing experience beneficial.
- IEC61850 / GOOSE networking experience advantageous.
- Manage and coordinate MV commissioning activities and specialist vendors.
- Support testing and commissioning of MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems and cabling.
- Coordinate MV switching, isolation, energisation and permit-to-work activities.
- Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, method statements and test records.
- Coordinate FAT, off-site testing and site commissioning activities.
- Review protection relay settings and associated test documentation.
- Track commissioning issues and defects through to close-out and handover.
- Work closely with Commissioning, QA/QC, Energy Marshalling and project teams to maintain programme delivery.
You will be an experienced MV Commissioning Engineer with strong technical knowledge of Medium Voltage systems and a practical understanding of commissioning within a data centre construction environment.
