We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join a major data centre delivery programme in Portugal.
This role sits within a well-established European contractor delivering large-scale, turnkey data centre projects across multiple international locations. As MEP Lead, you will take full responsibility for managing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services across the full project lifecycle, from design coordination through construction, commissioning, and final handover.
You will play a key leadership role on a technically complex, mission-critical project, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
This is a full-time, on-site position offering long-term career progression and exposure to some of the largest data centre developments currently being delivered in Europe.

MEP Lead Skills:
- Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering large-scale construction projects with a strong MEP focus
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary MEP teams and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, design coordination, and installation methodologies
- Experience on data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects highly desirable
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive programme, quality, and safety across complex project environments
- Lead and coordinate MEP services across design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Manage and support MEP engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors on site
- Oversee technical reviews, quality inspections, and progress reporting
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders
- Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, and method statements
- Identify and resolve design or construction issues to maintain programme momentum
- Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth handover of all MEP systems
- Support project planning, forecasting, and progress tracking to achieve key milestones
