The Role – Mechanical Engineer As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical engineering and building services projects across the Southeast region. Based from the Waterford office, you will work closely with Project Managers, site teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure mechanical systems are delivered to the highest technical, safety and quality standards.
This is a hands on engineering role that involves coordination of mechanical installations from design review through to commissioning and handover. The position offers strong technical exposure across mechanical systems, fabrication coordination, commissioning processes and client interface.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee commissioning and handover of mechanical systems ensuring compliance with project specifications
- Review contract drawings, technical documentation and mechanical design information
- Coordinate mechanical installations with site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Act as a key technical contact for client queries and engineering support during project delivery
- Prepare and submit detailed technical submittals for client and consultant approval
- Assess supplier proposals to confirm technical compliance and suitability
- Review coordination drawings to ensure alignment with architectural and structural requirements
- Support the offsite fabrication team to ensure systems are delivered to specification
- Monitor programme requirements and ensure mechanical works align with project timelines
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across projects
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within building services or process engineering projects
- Strong experience reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Proven involvement in commissioning and mechanical system handover
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Project
- Self motivated engineer capable of working both independently and as part of a project team
