Building Services BIM Specialist – M&E Coordination / Mission Critical & Pharmaceutical Projects

This well established Irish mechanical and electrical engineering contractor has been delivering complex building services projects across Ireland and Europe for more than two decades. Their in house BIM and digital engineering teams play a critical role in project planning, clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination across major developments.
The Role – Building Services BIM Specialist
As a Building Services BIM Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the digital delivery of complex M&E projects from preconstruction through to final handover. Working within an experienced BIM and engineering team, you will develop detailed 3D models, coordinate mechanical and electrical services and ensure accurate information flow between design, engineering and construction teams.
This position is suited to an experienced BIM professional with strong Revit and M&E coordination experience who wants to work on large scale pharmaceutical, data centre and commercial construction projects while progressing within a leading Irish engineering contractor.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop collaborative BIM models for mechanical and electrical services using Revit
• Produce coordinated 3D models and associated construction drawings for building services installations
• Work closely with the BIM Manager, Project Managers and Project Engineers during project delivery
• Input model elements with the required level of graphical and data detail
• Monitor clash detection processes and produce regular clash reports
• Coordinate incoming and shared models across multiple project stakeholders
• Lead or participate in weekly project coordination meetings with design and construction teams
• Produce and maintain coordinated construction drawings as design changes occur
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical services across multidisciplinary project models
• Produce COBie data and digital asset information models for project handover
• Prepare as built drawings and updated BIM models at project completion
• Produce AutoCAD mechanical and electrical schematics where required
• Generate BIM render images and visual outputs for project reports and presentations
• Support BIM delivery across both live projects and tender stage work
About You
• Minimum 5 years experience working in BIM coordination within building services or M&E construction
• Strong experience using Revit, Navisworks and BIM coordination platforms
• Proven experience coordinating mechanical and electrical building services models
• Mechanical or electrical trade background is beneficial
• Experience producing COBie data and asset information models
• Strong understanding of clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination processes
• Experience producing AutoCAD M&E schematics is advantageous
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong problem solving ability with a proactive approach to resolving coordination issues
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
