The Role – Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor
This is a key commercial role supporting the delivery of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple live projects. You will take ownership of cost management from pre-contract stage through to final account, ensuring financial performance is maintained while supporting project teams on site.
Working closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors, you will play a critical role in cost control, procurement and commercial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual requirements.

The Role – Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor
This is a key commercial role supporting the delivery of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple live projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors, you will play a critical role in cost control, procurement and commercial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of M&E packages from tender through to final account
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates and bills of quantities for mechanical and electrical works
- Support subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and contract placement
- Monitor project costs, valuations, variations and cashflow to maintain accurate financial control
- Prepare interim valuations, cost reports and forecasts for ongoing projects
- Manage subcontractor accounts, applications for payment and final account agreements
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across projects
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions, procurement strategies and client requirements
- Support value engineering initiatives to drive cost efficiency without impacting quality
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular commercial reporting
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role with exposure to M&E works
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within construction projects
- Experience preparing cost plans, BOQs and tender documentation for M&E packages
- Solid knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage cost and risk effectively
- Proficient in Excel and cost management software such as CostX or Bluebeam
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Organised, detail-focused and capable of working closely with site and project teams
