The Role – Mechanical Contracts Manager As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for a portfolio of mechanical small works and FM contracts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. You will oversee the full lifecycle from pre-construction through to completion, managing client relationships, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain high standards across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple mechanical contracts from initial planning through to completion
- Manage project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery
- Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance standards are met
- Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and quantity surveyors to align project objectives
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment in a cost-effective and timely manner
- Carry out regular site visits to track progress and resolve any issues proactively
- Control project costs, track financial performance, and support forecasting activities
- Handle contract variations, extensions, and commercial negotiations
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates and maintaining strong relationships
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management
- Drive continuous improvement across operational and technical delivery
- Strong background in mechanical building services, ideally within HVAC or M&E contracting
- Proven experience managing multiple projects or contracts simultaneously
- Excellent knowledge of project planning, budgeting, and cost control
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within construction
- Effective communicator with strong client-facing and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management systems
- Degree or trade background in mechanical engineering or related discipline is advantageous
- Knowledge of BIM and modern construction methods is beneficial
- Leadership mindset with the ability to manage teams and drive performance
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
