Mechanical Construction Manager – Data Centre Construction
This Mechanical Construction Manager role is based in Vaasa, Finland on a major data centre development. You will take ownership of mechanical building services delivery on site, managing programme, subcontractors, quality, safety, and commercial performance across large scale HVAC and pipework installations.
Working closely with the Project Director, Construction team, commissioning teams, and specialist subcontractors, you will ensure mechanical works are delivered safely, on programme, and in line with the strict standards expected on mission critical projects.
This role will suit an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager with strong data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale commercial project experience who is comfortable working within a fast-paced live construction environment.

Must Have Requirements
- Proven experience required as a Mechanical Construction Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager on large construction projects
- Strong HVAC, pipework, and mechanical building services experience required
- Experience with a main contractor or specialist mechanical contractor is required
- Proven track record managing subcontractors, programme delivery, and mechanical coordination on site
- Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission critical projects is highly desirable
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on European construction projects beneficial
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing variations and procurement
- Experience using digital construction and reporting platforms preferred
- Background coordinating commissioning activities advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all mechanical construction activities across the project
- Coordinate HVAC, pipework, and mechanical installations in line with programme milestones
- Maintain strong communication with the client, consultants, and wider project stakeholders
- Manage specialist subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
- Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments for mechanical works
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project standards and technical requirements
- Manage labour allocation and resource planning to support programme delivery
- Coordinate procurement of mechanical equipment and specialist suppliers
- Assist with variations, valuations, scope changes, and commercial reporting
- Drive the two-week look-ahead programme with the project delivery team
- Support commissioning and handover activities across mechanical systems
About You
- Strong background in mechanical construction and building services delivery
- Confident managing mechanical subcontractors within a live site environment
- Organised and commercially aware with strong programme management capability
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Able to work within fast-moving mission critical construction projects
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and health & safety standard
- Solutions-focused with the ability to drive progress and maintain programme certainty
