Electrical Project Engineer Power and Renewables

The Role Electrical Project Engineer
As Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide lead technical support from tender stage through to construction, commissioning and energisation. You will play a key role in delivering high voltage and medium voltage electrical projects, ensuring that works are completed safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with project managers, design teams and site teams, you will be heavily involved in HV and MV installations, electrical design coordination and technical problem solving. You will also gain exposure to transmission and distribution projects up to 400kV, expanding your expertise within the power and renewables sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Support delivery of high voltage and medium voltage electrical projects from enquiry to energisation
• Prepare and review design drawings for HV and LV equipment using AutoCAD
• Develop wiring schematics for fire alarm, emergency lighting, access control and associated electrical services
• Carry out cable sizing, containment sizing and lighting calculations
• Liaise with design consultants, subcontractors and internal teams on technical and commercial matters
• Raise and manage RFIs to resolve design queries
• Assist with procurement of electrical materials, equipment and specialist services
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments in line with EHS standards
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors during first fix and second fix electrical installations
• Oversee quality control inspections, snagging and preparation of test packs
• Contribute to project scheduling using MS Project and assist with programme management
• Compile as built drawings, O and M manuals and commissioning documentation
• Ensure compliance with current building regulations and electrical standards
• Support commissioning and energisation of HV and MV systems
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum two years experience in electrical design or project engineering on industrial or power projects
• Strong understanding of HV and MV networks within industrial or energy environments
• Experience with energy management systems and integration of automated control systems
• Proven track record of delivering electrical projects on time and within budget
• Confident representing the company at senior level meetings
• Strong IT skills including AutoCAD and MS Project
• Process driven with a strong focus on health, safety and quality
• Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and lead
• Organised, detail focused and capable of managing multiple workstreams
• Keen to mentor and support junior engineers
