This Irish process control, automation and instrumentation contractor delivers automation solutions across water, wastewater, utilities and industrial projects throughout Ireland.
Their work covers everything from instrumentation and primary measurement equipment through to large scale process automation, PLC, SCADA and telemetry systems.
The Role: Automation Engineer
As Automation Engineer, you will support the design, programming, testing and delivery of automation and control systems on projects nationwide, initially working on major utilities projects before progressing across a broader range of client projects.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work across PLC, HMI, SCADA and telemetry systems, with involvement in electrical drawings, technical documentation, FAT, SAT and troubleshooting. Travel to project sites across Ireland will be required depending on project needs.
Must Have Requirements
You will have a practical automation background with strong knowledge of industrial control systems and hands on experience with electrical or instrumentation equipment.
Water, wastewater or power sector experience would be beneficial, while instrumentation and measurement experience would be particularly useful.
You should be comfortable working independently on smaller projects, as part of a wider engineering team on larger schemes, and travelling to project sites nationwide when required.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree Level 8 in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control or related discipline
- 5+ years’ post qualification experience with a strong automation engineering background
- PLC programming experience using Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Omron or similar
- SCADA experience using ICONICS, InTouch, Wonderware, WinCC or similar
- Full clean driving licence
- Design and programme PLC and HMI control systems
- Design and implement SCADA and telemetry systems
- Support automation design for water and wastewater projects
- Prepare FDS, O&M documentation and electrical drawings
- Complete FAT and SAT testing of control panels and automation systems
- Troubleshoot control systems and provide technical support
- Liaise with clients, Project Managers and system vendors
- Support project delivery from design through testing and commissioning
