The Role - Site Manager
As Site Manager, you will take day to day responsibility for site operations on a major educational construction project in Galway, ensuring work is delivered safely, to programme and to the high standards expected on a busy live build. You will work closely with the Project Manager, design team and subcontractors, helping to drive progress while maintaining a strong focus on quality, logistics and communication.
This role will suit a construction professional who is confident managing subcontractors, coordinating trades and keeping projects moving in a live environment where planning and attention to detail are critical. You will have a direct impact on delivery, standards on site and overall project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily site operations on an educational construction project in Galway
• Maintain high standards of health and safety across all work areas and site activities
• Coordinate subcontractors, labour and site logistics to keep works progressing efficiently
• Drive programme delivery in line with key milestones and handover dates
• Monitor workmanship and finishes to ensure quality standards are achieved throughout the build
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team on short term planning and sequencing
• Keep accurate site records, reports and progress updates
• Ensure materials, plant and resources are available in line with the construction programme
• Liaise with design teams, clients and stakeholders as required on a live project environment
• Resolve on site issues quickly and professionally to avoid delays and maintain momentum
About You:
• Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial, education or public sector construction projects
• Strong main contractor background with a track record of delivering projects on time and to spec
• Excellent knowledge of site coordination, subcontractor management and construction sequencing
• Strong understanding of health and safety, quality control and site documentation
• Ability to manage fast paced programmes in live or logistically challenging environments
• Good communication skills and a practical leadership style
• Trade, engineering or construction management background would be an advantage
• Focused, organised and committed to high quality project delivery
