The Role – Senior Mechanical Estimator
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will take full ownership of mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. Working closely with the Estimating Manager and pre-construction team, you will play a critical role in securing major projects by delivering accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates.
This is a senior-level position with responsibility for managing complex bids, mentoring junior estimators, and contributing to overall estimating strategy, ensuring all tenders are aligned with programme, quality, and commercial objectives.

The Role – Senior Mechanical Estimator
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will take full ownership of mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and BOQs for large-scale projects
- Manage and complete full quantity take-offs with a high level of accuracy
- Source and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring full scope coverage
- Identify risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities within tenders
- Present completed estimates to senior leadership and contribute to bid strategy
- Coordinate with electrical estimators and wider pre-construction teams
- Mentor and support junior estimators within the department
- Ensure all tender submissions meet strict deadlines and quality standards
- Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within a contractor environment
- Strong track record delivering tenders from enquiry through to award stage
- Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical pipework systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce accurate take-offs and BOQs
- Strong commercial awareness with attention to detail and risk management
- Confident managing large, complex tenders independently
- Strong communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring others
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Salary: €80,000 – €95,000 (DOE)
