Based on a major data centre project in Fredericia, Denmark, you'll join an experienced delivery team focused on quality, safety and programme performance while working on one of Europe's most significant construction sectors.
The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a major data centre project in Fredericia. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate the technical engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems from design through to handover.
Working closely with the design team, subcontractors and site management, you will ensure all mechanical works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications, programme requirements and quality standards. You will also support and mentor junior engineers while driving technical excellence across the project.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technically challenging projects. You have strong coordination skills, communicate effectively with project teams and consultants, and are comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a live construction environment.
You understand the importance of quality, health and safety, and programme delivery while maintaining excellent technical standards throughout every stage of a mechanical installation. Your organised approach and attention to detail allow you to successfully deliver complex mechanical packages on major construction projects.

The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a mechanical contractor.
- Proven experience delivering commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial or data centre projects.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience managing technical submittals, RFIs, procurement and coordinated services drawings.
- Experience working on large-scale mechanical installations through to commissioning.
- Previous data centre project experience.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination and digital construction platforms.
- Experience managing commissioning activities and test packs.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Senior Trades qualification with extensive project engineering experience.
- Previous experience mentoring graduate and junior engineers.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical engineering activities from design through installation and commissioning.
- Review design drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Produce and manage coordinated services drawings with design teams.
- Prepare and review technical submittals and material approvals.
- Process procurement requests and purchase orders for mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate RFIs and technical queries with consultants and design teams.
- Verify materials and equipment delivered to site.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and installation quality.
- Carry out inspections, snagging and quality control of mechanical installations.
- Complete P&ID walkdowns and system verification.
- Prepare commissioning documentation and populate test packs.
- Assist with weekly project reporting and programme updates.
- Support commercial teams with variations, take-offs and cost-saving initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement across the engineering team.
