Based on a major data centre development in Fredericia, Denmark, this is an opportunity to join an experienced project delivery team working on a flagship project with long-term career progression available throughout Europe.
The Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project from design coordination through installation, testing and commissioning. Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, you will work closely with design teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure all mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills and previous experience delivering mechanical packages on large construction projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are an organised Mechanical Project Engineer who enjoys being involved in every stage of project delivery, from design coordination through to commissioning. You have strong technical knowledge, communicate well with multidisciplinary teams and understand the importance of maintaining programme, quality and safety on complex construction projects.
You can confidently manage multiple priorities, resolve technical issues efficiently and build strong working relationships with consultants, subcontractors and project teams. Your attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality engineering solutions make you a valuable part of any major project team.

The Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project from design coordination through installation, testing and commissioning. Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, you will work closely with design teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure all mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills and previous experience delivering mechanical packages on large construction projects.
Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a recognised mechanical trade qualification.
- Proven experience required with a mechanical contractor on commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial or data centre projects
- Must have at least 4 years' experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical installations, technical submittals, commissioning and quality inspections.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects is essential.
- Previous data centre experience would be advantageous.
- Experience using document control systems and digital project management platforms.
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures and test pack management.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs and variations.
- Experience mentoring Graduate or Junior Engineers.
- BIM coordination experience.
- Familiarity with European construction standards and project delivery.
- Coordinate mechanical design information with site installation teams.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and manage coordinated drawings across mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
- Produce and review technical submittals and respond to RFIs with the design team.
- Assist with procurement, purchase orders and material tracking.
- Verify deliveries and maintain accurate records of plant and equipment arriving on site.
- Carry out quality inspections, snagging and system walkdowns.
- Populate and manage commissioning test packs through to completion.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for mechanical activities.
- Coordinate subcontractors and monitor installation quality and programme delivery.
- Attend design, coordination and progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support weekly progress reporting and project documentation.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance throughout the project.
