You are an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer ready to take the lead on design, coordination and delivery of major electrical infrastructure works on a high-profile EP&R project in Dublin. Working with a well-established engineering contractor operating across energy, power, renewables and large-scale industrial projects, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and technically robust installation of HV electrical systems.

This role is suited to a driven electrical engineer with strong HV project experience who is looking to join a progressive organisation with a consistent pipeline of complex and technically challenging projects across Ireland and Europe.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Project or Design Engineer within HV energy or renewables.

  • Strong technical background across HV/LV systems, protection, control and power distribution.

  • Experience completing system studies such as load flow, arc flash and protection coordination.

  • Strong communication, organisation and documentation skills.

  • Ability to influence design and project decisions while working within a high-performing engineering team.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
  • Develop and review schematic drawings, single-line diagrams and technical specifications.

  • Complete detailed HV system studies including protection coordination, arc flash and load flow.

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on GIS/AIS substations.

  • Manage compliance with project safety requirements and industry standards.

  • Lead the design and specification of HV/LV equipment, protection and control systems.

  • Select, procure and review electrical equipment and vendor documentation.

  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments and technical reports.

  • Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders.

  • Manage document control, technical queries and project progress tracking.

  • Develop programmes using MS Project and support planning, testing and handover activities.

  • Lead engineering work packages, supervise junior engineers and support prototype testing.

  • Evaluate design solutions, cost performance, safety impacts and overall system reliability.
