Based on a major pharmaceutical project in Cork City, Co Cork, you'll join a collaborative management team with a strong focus on quality, programme delivery, and client satisfaction.
The Role: Project Manager
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a large pharmaceutical construction project in Cork. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will lead the site management team, oversee programme delivery, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a key leadership role requiring previous experience delivering complex construction projects with a main contractor in Ireland. You will work closely with the commercial team, design consultants, and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have 8+ years' experience in a Project Manager role with an Irish main contractor.
• Proven experience required delivering large-scale pharmaceutical, industrial, or commercial construction projects.
• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and programme management.
• Excellent leadership and subcontractor coordination experience.
Preferred Experience:
• Pharmaceutical or cleanroom project experience preferred.
• Experience using Procore, BIM 360, or similar project management software.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
• Chartered status or professional membership.
• First Aid, Safe Pass, and relevant management training.
• Experience managing projects exceeding €20 million.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the overall delivery of the pharmaceutical construction project from start to completion.
• Lead the site management team and coordinate all subcontractors.
• Ensure programme milestones are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
• Drive Health & Safety performance across the project.
• Chair site meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project budgets in conjunction with the commercial team.
• Identify and manage project risks while implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure all project reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements are maintained.
• Deliver the project in line with client expectations and company standards.
About You:
You are an experienced Project Manager with a strong background delivering pharmaceutical or large-scale building projects for an Irish main contractor. You are commercially aware, organised, and confident managing multiple stakeholders while driving programme delivery.
You have excellent communication skills, a proactive management style, and the ability to lead teams in a busy live construction environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
