MV Specialist Electrical Engineer Skills:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, with significant experience in MV systems.
- Proven background in MV system design, coordination, and commissioning on large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, or equivalent power system modelling tools.
- Experience conducting studies such as load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, grounding/resistivity, and power quality analysis.
- Excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently between design teams, site engineers, clients, and vendors.
- Sound knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and a track record in ensuring design and site compliance.
- Leadership experience in mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with project management teams.
- Lead MV system design and engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of all technical documentation and submittals.
- Liaise closely with BIM and design teams to ensure constructability and operational efficiency.
- Manage specialist vendors and subcontractors through design, procurement, and commissioning.
- Conduct detailed system studies, model validation, and design verification for MV networks.
- Support continuous process improvement, training, and technical development across engineering teams.
- Ensure all work is executed in line with programme, budget, and quality standards.
