The Role Mechanical Package Manager
This is a senior site-based role where you will take full ownership of the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project in Portugal. You will lead delivery from early design coordination through to commissioning and final handover, ensuring all mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will play a key role in driving programme performance, managing subcontractors, and maintaining strict control over cost, quality, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role Mechanical Package Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all mechanical package delivery from design coordination through installation, testing and commissioning
- Maintain a strong Health and Safety culture across all mechanical activities on site
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, site teams and specialist vendors
- Oversee project programme, sequencing and short-term planning to meet key milestones
- Control costs including labour, materials, plant, variations and valuations
- Monitor quality through inspections, snagging and QA/QC processes
- Produce progress reports, maintain documentation and track project performance
- Manage material procurement, scheduling and deliveries to site
- Coordinate change management and assess impact on programme and cost
- Attend site meetings, client reviews and support project handover and close-out
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong background in mechanical building services within data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial projects
- Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, installation and commissioning processes
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and variations
- Effective leader with the ability to drive teams and subcontractors to meet deadlines
- Highly organised with strong communication and reporting skills
- Focused on quality, safety and programme delivery in a fast-paced environment
Salary: €75,000 to €90,000 DOE
