The Company

This specialist data centre main contractor delivers large scale mission critical projects across Europe, providing turnkey delivery from design and construction through to commissioning.

With a strong pipeline of major European data centre developments, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Package Manager to join the project team in Skellefteå, Sweden, taking responsibility for key mechanical packages through construction, commissioning and handover.

The Role: Mechanical Package Manager

As Mechanical Package Manager, you will manage the delivery of key mechanical work packages, coordinating HVAC, piping and associated mechanical services against programme, quality and safety requirements.

You will work closely with the Mechanical Construction Manager, planners, design and commercial teams while managing mechanical subcontractors, programme, QA/QC, technical coordination and package close-out.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 7+ years’ experience within mechanical construction
• Proven experience required managing mechanical packages on large scale construction projects
• Strong experience managing mechanical subcontractors, sequencing and programme delivery
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar discipline required

Preferred Experience

• Data centre or mission critical construction experience preferred
• Large scale industrial project experience beneficial
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping and mechanical building services
• Experience taking mechanical packages through snagging, commissioning and handover

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical work packages throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate HVAC, piping and associated mechanical installations
• Manage mechanical subcontractors, manpower and progress on site
• Maintain QA/QC processes and mechanical documentation
• Coordinate programme and sequencing with planners and the wider project team
• Review drawings and technical submittals for mechanical works
• Liaise with the design team to ensure information is available in line with programme
• Attend site, engineering, planning and handover meetings
• Track variations and support the commercial team with package cost control
• Prepare and issue progress reports
• Manage mechanical snagging and close-out
• Resolve technical, design and coordination issues before they impact programme

About You

You will be an experienced Mechanical Package Manager with at least seven years’ experience in mechanical construction and a strong background delivering large scale mechanical packages.

You should be comfortable managing subcontractors, coordinating HVAC and piping installations and taking ownership of programme, QA and technical issues. Previous data centre, mission critical or major industrial construction experience would be particularly relevant.
