Job title: Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Construction
Location: Sweden

Package: Up to €75,000 DOE
The Company
This specialist data centre main contractor delivers large scale mission critical projects across Europe, providing turnkey solutions from design and construction through to commissioning.
With a strong pipeline of European data centre projects, they are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the project team on a major development in Skellefteå, Sweden, working across HVAC, piping and associated mechanical services.
The Role: Mechanical Engineer
As Mechanical Engineer, you will support the delivery and coordination of mechanical works on site, working closely with the Mechanical Package Manager, supervisors, subcontractors and wider project team.
You will be involved in technical submittals, RFIs, QA/QC, inspections, progress reporting and mechanical coordination, ensuring installations are completed in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
Must Have Requirements
You will be a Mechanical Engineer with at least three years’ experience in mechanical construction and practical knowledge of HVAC, piping and mechanical building services.
You should be comfortable working directly with subcontractors and site teams, reviewing drawings and resolving technical issues on a live construction project. Data centre or mission critical experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

- Data centre or mission critical project experience preferred
- Large scale industrial construction experience beneficial
- Experience with mechanical QA/QC, RFIs and technical submittals
- Previous experience coordinating mechanical subcontractors beneficial
- Support the coordination and delivery of mechanical works on site
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submittals
- Coordinate HVAC, piping and associated mechanical installations
- Assist with QA/QC inspections and installation checks
- Coordinate daily activities with supervisors and subcontractors
- Monitor progress against programme and report to senior management
- Raise and track RFIs with the design team
- Maintain mechanical technical and safety documentation
- Attend site, engineering and planning meetings
- Track variations and assist with progress claims
- Identify and help resolve technical and coordination issues
- Manage and close out mechanical snagging items
