The Role: Mechanical Estimator
Based in Co Dublin, this Mechanical Estimator position will play a key role in securing major data centre projects across Ireland and Europe.
Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical estimates, analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing, reviewing technical documentation, and contributing to competitive tender submissions. You will work closely with electrical and CSA estimating teams to develop comprehensive project costs and support successful bid delivery.
This role would suit a Mechanical Estimator, Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, or Mechanical Cost Engineer with experience pricing large-scale construction or engineering projects.
Must Have Requirements
You will be a commercially minded Mechanical Estimator who enjoys analysing project information and developing competitive, accurate tender submissions.
You should be comfortable reviewing complex technical documentation, engaging with subcontractors and suppliers, and presenting your findings to senior stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, excellent numerical ability, and the confidence to challenge assumptions will be important for success in this role.
Experience within mechanical building services, MEP contracting, data centres, pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities, or large commercial developments will be highly regarded.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 4 years’ experience in a mechanical construction, mechanical estimating, or quantity surveying role
- Proven experience required preparing estimates from drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as CostX or Buildsoft
- Ability to analyse project risks and commercial opportunities
- Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical project experience preferred
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts beneficial
- Experience working with Irish or European subcontractors advantageous
- Previous mentoring or leadership experience beneficial
- Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services qualification
- Experience working on large-scale M&E projects
- Strong understanding of procurement and tendering processes
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Produce pricing schedules, quantity take-offs, and cost plans
- Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing exercises across Ireland and Europe
- Evaluate and compare subcontractor quotations to ensure best value solutions
- Prepare reports and commercial summaries for senior management reviews
- Present estimates to senior leadership when required
- Maintain and develop estimating cost databases
- Identify commercial risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving measures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Collaborate closely with CSA and Electrical Estimators on integrated project bids
- Assist in developing estimating procedures and quality assurance processes
- Mentor and support junior members of the estimating team
- Keep informed of market trends, material pricing, and construction industry developments
