We are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator with a strong mechanical background to play a key role on a major €35 million wastewater treatment plant expansion within a live biopharmaceutical facility in Co Cork.

This is a mechanically driven scope involving complex utilities, wastewater treatment equipment, mechanical skids, pumps, and process pipework.

The role offers a minimum of two years’ work on a flagship project for a high-value client, with responsibility for coordinating a team of approximately 60 trades personnel while ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery in a GMP environment.

Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator Skills:
  • Strong mechanical background, experience with pipework, pumps, utilities, wastewater systems, or industrial process equipment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate mechanical and electrical activities on industrial or pharma projects.
  • Able to lead, motivate, and manage large teams of tradesmen on a busy site.
  • Experience working in live, regulated, or GMP environments is highly desirable.
  • Suitable for candidates who have come up through the tools or hold a relevant mechanical qualification or engineering degree.
  • Mechanical trade qualification and/or mechanical engineering degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, M&E drawings, utilities systems, and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

As a Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator:
  • Lead and coordinate all mechanical and electrical installation works on a large utilities and wastewater upgrade project.
  • Manage daily planning, sequencing, and workface coordination across a workforce of 60 tradespeople.
  • Review drawings, resolve clashes, support planning of tie-ins, and maintain strict adherence to specifications.
  • Oversee a mechanical-heavy package including pumps, pipework, skids, wastewater treatment equipment, and utilities connections.
  • Drive mechanical installation quality, ensuring compliance with GMP, QA/QC requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support mechanical testing, commissioning, and collaboration with process and validation teams.
  • Deliver work within a fully operational GMP facility without disrupting production.
  • Manage shutdowns, isolations, tie-ins, and high-risk mechanical activities with strong planning and communication.
  • Maintain strict cleanliness, contamination control, and documentation standards expected in a pharma environment.
  • Maintain redlines, installation records, and turnover documentation to GMP expectations.
  • Support the creation and review of method statements, permits, ITPs, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality protocols across all work fronts.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €75,000 plus package to include company vehicle, pension, bonus & more.
