The Role – Health & Safety Manager
You’ll take a leadership role across a major public infrastructure and maintenance network, ensuring the highest levels of safety, environmental performance, and compliance are achieved every day.
Working with a skilled, motivated team, you’ll drive continuous improvement across safety systems, training, and culture, creating an environment where safety excellence isn’t just policy, it’s practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee Health & Safety compliance across all operations and maintenance activities.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to company and statutory standards.
- Maintain ISO and NSAI certification standards through structured auditing and KPI monitoring.
- Deliver and manage HSE training programs, toolbox talks, and safety communications across all teams.
- Promote sustainability through energy efficiency and environmental initiatives.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned drive improvement.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management and site teams, embedding a proactive safety culture.
About You
- Level 8 Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a safety management or leadership role.
- Experience in infrastructure, maintenance, or road operations highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and IT skills.
- Full, clean Class B driving licence essential.
- Additional qualifications in environmental, energy, or sustainability disciplines (advantage).
- Confident, professional, and motivated to make a tangible impact.
