A well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects throughout Ireland is seeking an experienced Foreman to join their team in Co Mayo. The Role: Foreman
Based on a major civil engineering project in Co Mayo, you will oversee the day-to-day site operations, ensuring bridge structures, earthworks, and drainage works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, you will coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and plant while maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality control, and health and safety throughout the project.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have proven experience as a Foreman on Irish civil engineering projects.
• Strong experience managing bridge structures, earthworks, and drainage works is required.
• Experience working for a civil engineering contractor is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and site operations.
• Full driving licence.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience delivering roads or public infrastructure projects.
• Strong planning and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and manage site records.
Nice to Have:
• CSCS/CPCS or equivalent plant supervision qualifications.
• First Aid and Safe Pass certification.
• Temporary Works or lifting supervision experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily site activities to ensure works are completed safely and to programme.
• Coordinate bridge construction, drainage installations, and earthworks operations.
• Manage subcontractors, direct labour, and plant on site.
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Carry out daily briefings and maintain high health and safety standards.
• Liaise with engineers and site management regarding programme and progress.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are available to maintain productivity.
• Maintain accurate site records and report on daily progress.
About You:
You are an experienced Foreman with a solid background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You have successfully managed bridge structures, drainage, and earthworks packages and are confident leading site teams in a live construction environment. You are organised, safety focused, and capable of driving programme delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
