The Role Electrical Project Manager

As Electrical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for delivering electrical infrastructure and upgrade projects across manufacturing and commercial environments. You will manage works from initial scope and design through installation, commissioning and final handover.

This is a key position within the engineering function, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget while minimising disruption to live production operations. Your work will directly impact plant reliability, compliance and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical installation, upgrade and refurbishment projects across factory and industrial sites
• Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, budgets and resource plans
• Coordinate internal engineering teams, contractors and specialist suppliers
• Manage permit systems, lockout tagout procedures and site specific safety controls
• Monitor programme milestones and implement corrective actions where required
• Oversee design reviews, electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, IEC standards and relevant UK electrical regulations
• Support maintenance teams with fault finding, root cause analysis and reliability improvements
• Prepare project documentation including risk assessments, commissioning records and handover packs
• Control budgets, evaluate supplier quotations and ensure value for money
• Provide clear reporting to senior management and key stakeholders

About You

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with experience delivering projects in manufacturing, industrial or commercial environments
• Strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations and compliance standards
• Proven track record managing contractors and coordinating multi discipline teams
• Experienced in managing budgets, programmes and project risk
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation including PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations and permit systems
• Ideally chartered or working towards IEng or CEng
• Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP is advantageous
• Experience in automation, industrial power systems or high volume manufacturing would be beneficial
• Organised, decisive and capable of delivering projects in live operational environments
