The Role – Electrical Engineer
This is a key role within the engineering team, focused on delivering detailed electrical design for transmission and distribution grid connection projects. You will take ownership of design packages, contribute to technical decision-making, and support projects from early feasibility through to construction and energisation.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards in safety, quality, and performance. The role offers a combination of office-based engineering and site involvement across major power infrastructure projects.

Salary: €60,000 – €75,000 DOE

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards in safety, quality, and performance. The role offers a combination of office-based engineering and site involvement across major power infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for overhead lines, underground cable systems, and grid connection infrastructure
- Carry out and review feasibility studies for renewable energy grid connections including wind, solar, and battery storage
- Undertake site investigations, route selection, and technical assessments
- Prepare and review material specifications and Bills of Quantities
- Produce and review detailed electrical design drawings and technical reports
- Take responsibility for design deliverables across multiple projects
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams on transmission and distribution network design
- Provide technical support throughout project delivery including construction and commissioning phases
- Support and contribute to tender submissions and technical evaluations
- Carry out site inspections and quality audits during construction
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience in power engineering, transmission, or distribution projects
- Proven ability to deliver electrical design on grid infrastructure or similar projects
- Strong technical knowledge of overhead lines, underground cables, and power systems
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
- Proficient in MS Office with strong IT and technical skills
- AutoCAD experience desirable
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple design packages and meet deadlines
- Capable of working independently and taking ownership of deliverables
- Full driving licence with willingness to travel to site as required
Salary: €60,000 – €75,000 DOE
