The Role – Electrical Design Engineer
This is a key position within the pre-construction team, where you will take ownership of electrical design packages from early concept through to construction support. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and consultants to deliver compliant, efficient, and high-quality electrical building services designs.
The role offers a strong mix of technical design, coordination, and mentoring responsibility, with involvement across the full project lifecycle. Your work will directly impact project quality, programme delivery, and overall technical standards.

Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical building services designs in line with project briefs and client requirements.
- Produce detailed design drawings and specifications including LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, and small power systems.
- Prepare containment layouts, schematics, and technical schedules.
- Carry out and review electrical calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all designs meet current UK standards including BS 7671.
- Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Attend design and client meetings, contributing technical expertise.
- Respond to technical queries throughout design and construction phases.
- Support the production of technical reports and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians within the team.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and internal compliance.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar.
- Proven experience in electrical building services design within the UK market.
- Strong technical knowledge of LV systems, lighting, and general electrical services.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, with Revit experience desirable.
- Good understanding of UK electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Able to manage your own workload and meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-focused with a strong commitment to quality and delivery.
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
