A specialist contractor delivering large-scale mission critical projects across Ireland and mainland Europe is seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join a major data centre development in Sines, Portugal.
The business has built a strong reputation for delivering complex turnkey projects from design through to commissioning. With a substantial pipeline of data centre projects across Europe, this role offers long-term career progression within one of the busiest sectors in construction.
The Role: Construction Logistics Manager
Based on a major data centre project in Sines, Portugal, you will take full responsibility for construction logistics, site movements, OFCI equipment coordination and lifting operations.
Reporting to senior project management, you will develop and implement the logistics strategy for the project, ensuring deliveries, heavy lifts, crane operations and material movements are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
This is a critical leadership role requiring close coordination with client-appointed vendors, subcontractors, engineering teams, commissioning teams and specialist logistics providers throughout the project lifecycle.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have 7 years' experience managing construction logistics on large-scale M&E, mission critical or data centre projects
• Proven experience required managing heavy lifting operations, crane coordination and complex equipment movements
• Experience with OFCI equipment management and client vendor coordination is required
• Strong knowledge of lifting regulations, RAMS preparation and logistics planning
• Experience delivering projects from construction through to commissioning
Preferred Experience:
• Previous data centre construction experience
• Experience working across European construction projects
• Background within M&E contracting or mission critical environments
• Experience using project management and logistics software
Nice to Have:
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
• Appointed Person or lifting qualifications
• Additional Health & Safety certifications
• Experience managing multinational project teams
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all construction logistics activities across the project
• Take ownership of all OFCI packages from delivery through installation and commissioning
• Plan and coordinate major lifting operations and heavy equipment movements
• Develop lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments
• Coordinate crane operations, heavy haulage and specialist logistics contractors
• Manage site access, delivery schedules and material flow across the project
• Chair logistics coordination meetings with clients, subcontractors and vendors
• Monitor logistics programme, costs and project risks
• Ensure lifting operations comply with all safety regulations and project standards
• Work closely with engineering, construction and commissioning teams to maintain programme delivery
• Lead and mentor logistics coordinators and OFCI teams
• Drive continuous improvements across logistics planning and site operations
About You
You are an experienced Construction Logistics Manager with a strong background delivering technically complex projects within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission critical construction.
You have excellent planning and coordination skills, understand the importance of safe lifting operations and can confidently manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining programme, quality and safety standards.
You are commercially aware, solutions focused and capable of leading logistics operations within a fast-paced live construction environment.
