This Irish main contractor is delivering major data centre and mission critical projects across Ireland and mainland Europe, with a strong pipeline of secured work in the sector.
They are currently delivering a multi million euro data centre project in Germany and are looking to strengthen the commercial team with an experienced Commercial Manager. The company has built a strong reputation for programme delivery, commercial control and managing technically demanding projects across European markets.
The Role: Commercial Manager
As Commercial Manager, you will take a senior role within the project commercial team on a large scale data centre development in Germany.
You will have responsibility for the commercial performance of the project, working closely with the Project Director, senior management, Quantity Surveying team and wider construction team.
The role will involve oversight of procurement, subcontractor accounts, cost reporting, forecasting, variations and contractual matters, while ensuring the project maintains strong commercial control throughout delivery.

About You
You will be an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contractor background and a track record of managing the commercial side of major construction projects.
You should be commercially strong, comfortable managing subcontractors and capable of producing accurate cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
Experience on large scale data centre projects would be particularly valuable, although candidates from pharmaceutical, industrial, advanced manufacturing or other technically complex construction sectors will also be considered.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have significant experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager level with a main contractor
- Proven experience required on large scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement, cost reporting, variations and final accounts
- Experience managing or mentoring a commercial team is required
- Must be comfortable working in Germany on a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation
Preferred Experience
- Data centre or mission critical project experience preferred
- Previous experience working on major projects in mainland Europe beneficial
- Experience with Irish or UK main contractors advantageous
- Strong contractual and commercial reporting knowledge
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the commercial management of the data centre project
- Manage and support the project Quantity Surveying and commercial team
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and package appointments
- Manage subcontractor valuations, variations and final accounts
- Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates for senior management
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Work closely with the Project Director and construction team to maintain programme and cost control
- Manage contractual correspondence, change control and claims where required
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure strong financial governance across the project
