The Role: CAD Designer / BIM Technician
As a CAD Designer / BIM Technician, you will support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through to construction and handover.
Working alongside Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process and Automation Engineers, you will prepare high-quality engineering drawings and coordinated BIM models while ensuring all documentation complies with client requirements, industry standards and company quality procedures.
This role offers the opportunity to work on treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated utility infrastructure using the latest Autodesk BIM technologies.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced CAD Designer or BIM Technician with a strong background in water and wastewater engineering projects. You have excellent technical drawing skills, understand multidisciplinary coordination and enjoy working closely with engineering teams to deliver accurate, high-quality design information.
You are organised, detail-focused and confident managing multiple drawing packages while maintaining document control and BIM standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a CAD Designer or BIM Technician role.
- Previous experience within the Irish or UK water and wastewater industry is required.
- Proven experience producing engineering drawings for treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs or utility infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Plant 3D is essential.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams is required.
- Experience using Navisworks and BIM 360.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 BIM standards.
- Experience carrying out BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Previous involvement in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, CAD, BIM, Design Technology or a related discipline.
- Relevant Autodesk or BIM certification.
- Experience supporting BIM implementation and company standards.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and BIM software.
- Prepare Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangement Drawings, Site Layouts, Mechanical Arrangements, Pipework Layouts, Civil Engineering Drawings and As-Built documentation.
- Develop and maintain coordinated 3D BIM models for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Integrate civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines within BIM environments.
- Perform clash detection and participate in design coordination reviews.
- Generate drawing packages directly from BIM models.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Liaise closely with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Automation Engineers throughout project delivery.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision control and document management systems.
- Support the ongoing development of BIM procedures and ISO 19650 compliant workflows.
- Ensure documentation is issued in accordance with company Quality Management Systems.
You are an experienced CAD Designer or BIM Technician with a strong background in water and wastewater engineering projects.
