We are seeking an experienced Senior SHESQ Advisor to support the delivery of major energy and gas infrastructure projects in the Mayo region.
This is a site-based role suited to a safety professional with strong experience in mechanical, energy or utility projects, who can take a visible leadership role in driving safety, health, environmental and quality standards on complex live sites. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors and senior management to ensure robust SHESQ systems are implemented, maintained and continuously improved, while promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across all works.

Senior SHESQ Advisor Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Higher Diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a SHESQ or senior health & safety role within construction, mechanical or energy environments
- Experience working on gas infrastructure, live gas stations or terminals is highly advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems
- Solid understanding of Irish health, safety and environmental legislation
- Proven experience delivering site audits, inspections and behavioural safety initiatives
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence site teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills with high attention to detail
- Flexible, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Support and maintain the Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems across live projects
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards and statutory requirements
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Champion behavioural safety and culture development initiatives
- Carry out and document regular site audits, inspections and walkdowns
- Monitor training and competency records for site personnel
- Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain accurate SHESQ records, reports and monthly statistics
- Review subcontractor RAMS and safety documentation
- Identify hazards, assess risks and support the implementation of appropriate controls
- Present at site safety meetings and support management reporting
