The Company
A leading Tier 1 Irish Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Wexford.

The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be a key member of the project delivery team, reporting to the Commercial Manager and taking ownership of the commercial and financial management of a major building project in Wexford.
You’ll manage procurement, subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, cost reporting and commercial risk while working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team. You’ll also support and mentor Project and junior Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.
Must Have Requirements
You’ll be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of project finances rather than simply administer individual packages.
You’ll have strong commercial judgement, contract knowledge and subcontractor management experience, with the confidence to identify commercial risk, manage variations and maintain accurate control of project costs.

Must Have Requirements
- B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics
- 4 to 5 years’ experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
- Proven experience commercially managing complex construction projects
- Strong main contract and subcontract administration experience
- Experience with Cubit / CostX, COINS and Microsoft Office
- Chartered MSCSI / MRICS or currently progressing through APC
- Main contractor experience
- Strong knowledge of procurement, variations and cost reporting
- Experience mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
- Manage project cost control, value management and commercial risk
- Develop procurement strategies and subcontractor procurement schedules
- Prepare, issue and analyse subcontract tender packages
- Manage subcontractor payments, claims, final accounts and retentions
- Prepare interim valuations and support main contract administration
- Identify and manage variations in line with contract requirements
- Assess the commercial impact of delay and disruption
- Support monthly cost value reconciliation and cash flow reporting
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager
- Mentor Project Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff
