The Company

Our client is a long-established, award-winning Irish civil engineering and water infrastructure contractor with nearly 50 years of delivery across Ireland and the UK.

They specialise in complex water, wastewater, utilities, and public infrastructure projects, working closely with local authorities and national frameworks. Known for their strong safety culture, engineering excellence, and consistent project delivery, they have received multiple industry awards in recent years for innovation, sustainability, and health & safety performance.

With a strong pipeline of secured work in Munster, they are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major project in Cork City.


The Role – Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of a live civil infrastructure project, supporting delivery from pre-contract through to final account.

This role offers excellent exposure to Public Works Contracts, subcontractor management, cost control, and client-facing commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of interim and final valuations and payment applications

  • Support monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cashflow management

  • Measurement and valuation of works in line with contract requirements

  • Administration of subcontractor and supplier accounts

  • Preparation and management of variations, claims, and change control

  • Maintain commercial registers, correspondence logs, and procurement schedules

  • Support the Commercial Manager with reporting, negotiations, and financial controls

  • Attend site meetings and liaise closely with engineering and project teams

  • Ensure all commercial activities align with company HSQE systems


About You
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

  • Experience on civil engineering, water, utilities, or infrastructure projects

  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail

  • Familiarity with Public Works Contracts (Ireland or UK) advantageous

  • Strong communication and reporting skills

  • Full clean driving licence and authorised to work in Ireland
