Quantity Surveyor – Major Civil Infrastructure Project Cork

Our client is one of Ireland’s largest and most respected construction and civil engineering contractors, delivering landmark infrastructure and building projects that have a lasting impact on communities nationwide.
With a strong focus on sustainability, social value, and long-term delivery, this organisation is known for successfully delivering some of the country’s most complex and high-profile projects across roads, utilities, housing, education, healthcare, and public infrastructure.
They are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major road and infrastructure scheme in Cork, forming part of a nationally significant transport project.
The Role – Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial and financial management of this large-scale civil engineering project. Working closely with the Construction Manager and wider project team, you will ensure robust cost control, accurate reporting, and strong commercial performance from early works through to final account.
This role offers excellent exposure to complex civils delivery within a structured, best-in-class contracting environment.

The Role – Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial and financial management of this large-scale civil engineering project. Working closely with the Construction Manager and wider project team, you will ensure robust cost control, accurate reporting, and strong commercial performance from early works through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, ensuring full contractual entitlement
- Monitor and secure payments in line with contract conditions
- Assist with tendering, estimates, and procurement support
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate final accounts
- Produce weekly cost/value reports and delivery schedules
- Compile monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and forward work schedules
- Procure, negotiate, and place subcontract packages
- Commercial management of subcontractors through to final account
- Prepare contractual notices, correspondence, variations, and claims
- Provide commercial support to site, estimating, and procurement teams
- Liaise closely with the client on all commercial matters
About You
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- 3 years’ experience in a QS role on construction or civil engineering projects
- Experience working on large-scale, high-headcount sites
- Strong understanding of civil engineering contracts and site delivery
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
