The Role – Senior Mechanical Estimator

As Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will take full responsibility for managing large scale mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and handover. Working from the Dublin office, you will collaborate closely with the Pre Construction team, Estimating Manager and senior leadership to develop competitive and commercially sound tender submissions.

You will play a key role in securing high value projects across the data centre, pharmaceutical and commercial sectors while also helping to develop estimating procedures and mentor junior estimators within the team. This is a senior level opportunity with genuine influence over bid strategy, project selection and future business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications and mechanical scope documents in detail
• Prepare accurate mechanical cost estimates, take offs and bills of quantities
• Assess subcontractor and supplier quotations for technical compliance and commercial accuracy
• Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals during the tender stage
• Coordinate with electrical estimators to ensure fully integrated MEP pricing submissions
• Present completed tender packages and pricing strategies to senior management
• Mentor and support junior mechanical estimators within the estimating department
• Maintain accurate tender documentation, records and estimating databases
• Ensure allowances, contingencies and labour assumptions align with project risk profiles
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams throughout the pre construction process

About You

• Strong experience in a Senior Mechanical Estimator or Mechanical Estimator position within an M&E or building services contractor
• Proven track record delivering mechanical tenders from enquiry stage through to award
• Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical services and process pipework systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations within data centre, pharmaceutical or commercial projects
• Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications accurately
• Excellent commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
• Capable of managing multiple high value tenders simultaneously
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
• Comfortable mentoring junior estimators and supporting team development
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines
