Due to continuous expansion, we are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join a leading mechanical contracting team in Dublin.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and supporting high-value pre-construction activities.

This is an office-based role reporting directly to the Estimating Manager and offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-discipline mechanical projects.

Senior Mechanical Estimator Skills:

  • Extensive mechanical cost estimating experience within a contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems
  • Proven ability to deliver tenders from enquiry through to award stage
  • Proficient in MS Office and estimating software
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and perform accurate take-offs and prepare detailed BOQs
  • Experience mentoring and managing junior estimators
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously on large-scale, complex tenders
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator:

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Manage quantity take-offs and populate pricing documents accurately
  • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; interrogate and validate submissions to ensure scope compliance
  • Present completed estimates to the Pre-Construction Director and Board of Directors
  • Control tender documents including drawing analysis and specification review for inclusion in BOQs
  • Mentor and train junior estimators and coordinate estimating resources
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical Estimators to ensure coordinated submissions
  • Participate in developing procedures to maintain high quality standards within the Estimating Department
  • Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and potential tender gaps, and communicate them to management
  • Ensure estimates account for contingencies and potential risks, maintaining accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the tender process
The Package:
Salary €70,000 – €85,000 DOE plus benefits and career progression within a growing, multi-disciplined mechanical contracting team.
